Whistleblower Roundup

A Whistleblower reports waste, fraud, abuse, corruption, dangers to public health and safety, or even incorrect information to someone (Supervisor, Media, Grand Juries, Criminal Justice Authorities, Reliable Clergy, etc.) who may be in the position to “right” the wrongdoing.

Here are 5 famous Whistleblowers

Please revisit our Whistleblower tutorial …
Utah Needs Whistleblowers … Like YOU!

My personal experience included an interaction with the infamous FBI Associate Director Mark Felt, famous for “outing” President Richard Nixon and also known as “Deep Throat.”

After wrenching my knee panning gold for fun high in the Sierra Mountains, I endured an “old style” operation where everything in the knee was opened up, ripped out, polished and re-adjusted.  Arthroscopic surgery was in its infancy in those days.  Weeks of rehabilitation and limits on my activity followed.  AD Felt wrote the following letter to wish me well.

I’m pleased that AD Felt blew the whistle on Nixon and Watergate although many disparage his motives as petty, self-serving, traitorous and spiteful.  Regardless of his personal motives, he successfully shamed a shameful bunch.

Something I bumped into and that escaped me these many years, is that Nixon knew “Deep Throat” was AD Felt.  This short 6-minute video amazes me.

Unfortunately, there were then, as there are now, those at the upper echelons of the FBI who, with malice and intent, subverted the rule of law and good governance in service of self.  They were prime movers of horrific, systemic, aberrant behavior that forever tarnished the image of, and brought discredit on, the Bureau and the Nation.

Plenty of Spankings are in Order

“The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones.”
William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar

Now decades later … the Ole’ Buzzard’s blog has provided a long compilation of exposés reaching far beyond Watergate.  We’ve addressed Utah’s ingrained penchant for affinity fraud, involved Richard Nixon, “Opioid” Orrin Hatch, Mueller, Comey, Barr, BCCI, The Las Vegas Ledger, $21 Trillion Missing, Waco, Ruby Ridge, Inslaw, Tempus Global, and many more.

The  Utah Legislative Auditor General has reported and reported time after time about fraud, waste and abuse associated with many of Utah’s quasi-governmental entities.  And … as par for the course … Utah’s Goodfellas escape real accountability and continue working their wiles on our unsuspecting, gullible people.

Our 20 pages of “living documentation” in the PDF below is one example.   Whenever your mouse turns to a hand with the index finger pointing up, the node is interactive and hyperlinks to “draft” notes and supporting information.  Utah Legislative Auditor General’s reports can be found among the information.

Finally, let’s all stand tall like Taylor Johnson!

Author’s Note

As an Agent, my assignment in the FBI was to investigate crimes of violence in the San Fernando Valley area of the Los Angeles Basin. This included Bank Robbery, Kidnapping, Hijacking, and one Organized Crime case. I was also tasked to teach unarmed self-defense.  Those were busy times for all.  Efrem Zimbalist Jr., who starred in a 1970s popular TV series “The FBI,” is depicted in the photo above and visited with us from time to time.  His office was several floors below ours.

I prize my years as an FBI Agent.  The brick agents I knew and worked with on the Bank Robbery squad and in our Resident Agency had my back regularly … sometimes daily during “wild and woolly” years in Los Angeles.

Warning

Government employees, contractors and others should be mindful that intimidating, interfering with and/or engaging in any way to discourage the right of a citizen to report shameful, inappropriate, fraudulent or unlawful conduct is a crime.  Utilizing office email, or any other means of communication, to further such interference is also criminal conduct strictly prohibited because it aids and abets original, unlawful acts.  Supervisors and Division Heads may be particularly tempted to interfere and are therefore vulnerable and culpable if they do.  The Ole’ Buzzard and Team will duly report any and all unlawful conduct.

“Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it.  To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it.  With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness – and our ability to tell our own stories.  Stories that are different from the ones we’re being brainwashed to believe.”  -Arundhati Roy in “Confronting Empire”, 27 January 2003
