Outside the Box with Lateral Thinking and Disruptive Innovation

At Justice4All, we believe that we’re on the cusp of productively exercising increasingly more innovative approaches to Investigative Journalism. What we are doing and attempting also has parallel impact on the Justice System. As some may have already noticed, we’re operating way beyond and outside of the conventional “box” as we work to shame Goodfellas.

Hopefully, there will be more and more synchronicity and symbiosis around, between and among us as matters continue to unfold vis-à-vis The Ole’ Buzzard’s Blog.  The following videos and articles are recommend as primers for your contribution to “thinking” our way into and through the maze of challenges to be faced as we hope for and work for a swing of the pendulum toward a return to The Rule of Law and Good Governance.

The first little video, although somewhat simplistic, is a fair primer for understanding Lateral Thinking. 1min

The next 2min video is more entertaining and enlightening about “Crazy Places” thinking … (absent a couple of “F” bombs that I edited out)

The following article was written for safety professionals but shares examples that help bring into focus lateral thinking applied to  practical problems.

We then hear from De Bono the father of Lateral Thinking. 6min

For a “Must Watch,” 18 minute De Bono lecture …

The following Wikipedia article is an outstanding resource and primer for understanding and training up to Lateral Thinking.

Final comments …

Are we trendy and superficial in our struggle to innovate and change citing and relying on tools with which we are barely familiar?  Are we “half educated” like Nicholas M. Butler who posited that “America is the best half-educated country in the world.”

Or … is it possible that the “thinking” processes we’ve currently stumbled onto and congealed into “Tactics and Strategy” for Justice4All are in part and in fact the processes we’ve historically, accidentally albeit sporadically embraced and adopted all along the way?

Homework …
